The Prime Minister of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, is paying a visit to the New York City starting from September 21 to take part in the first Belarusian–American Investment Forum and the United Nations Climate Summit.

The Prime Minister of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, is paying a visit to the New York City starting from September 21 to take part in the first Belarusian–American Investment Forum and the United Nations Climate Summit.

Just in a few hours on his arrival to the USA the Prime Minister of Belarus has had a meeting with Ban Ki–Moon, the Secretary–General of the United Nations. During an open and kind–spirited talk the Parties have discussed several options of strengthening Belarus–UN multidimensional cooperation.

The Secretary–General has noted with much appreciation the process started by the Minsk meeting on the situation in Ukraine as well as skillful leadership and key role of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in search of the solution to the situation the neighboring country of Belarus is facing, which would be acceptable for all parties.

In response the Prime Minister of Belarus has confirmed the intention of the government of the country to further proactively explore ways of supporting the dialogue, which would return the situation in Ukraine into peaceful stance as soon as possible.

The head of Belarusian Government has drawn the attention of the head of the UN secretariat to the need to continue the activities of UN funds and programs as well as provision of development assistance to middle–income countries, including Belarus. He has also underscored the need to keep the UN support in elaboration the sustainable development programs for Belarus until year 2030.
