The results of the contest of the works of students, candidates for a master's degree, post–graduate students “Protection of the Rights of Refugees and Stateless Persons and Formation of a Tolerant Attitude towards them”, which was held in September—November 2010 by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and International Non–governmental Association for Scientific Research, Information and Educational Programmes “Evolutio”, have been summed up.

The results of the contest of the works of students, candidates for a master's degree, post–graduate students “Protection of the Rights of Refugees and Stateless Persons and Formation of a Tolerant Attitude towards them”, which was held in September—November 2010 by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and International Non–governmental Association for Scientific Research, Information and Educational Programmes “Evolutio”, have been summed up.

Students, candidates for a master's degree and post–graduates of Belarusian universities, involved in researches in the specified areas were invited to participate in the contest.

42 works of the students and a post–graduates from 19 universities of Belaruswere submitted for jury’s consideration. Having studied the works, the commission has taken the following decision.

To announce the following participants the winners with providing them a reward in an amount of 600 000 (six hundred thousand) Belarusian rubles and memorable diplomas:

·         Darja Cheb, student of the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University, work “Socialization of Refugees and Strengthening of the Tolerance in Belarusian Society”;

·         Anton Ignatovich, post–graduate student of the Faculty of History of Belarusian State University, work “The role of Mass Media in Muslims Refugees Integration in Great Britain”;

·         Tatiana Shcherbetko, student of the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University, work “Protection of the Rights of Children during Armed Conflicts”;

To announce the following participants the winners with providing them a reward in an amount of 400 000 (four hundred thousand) Belarusian rubles and memorable diplomas:

·         Tatiana Govorun, student of the Faculty of Psychology of Belarusian State Pedagogical University named Maxim Tank, work “Training of Tolerance and Positive Collaboration in Families of Refugees and Local Peoples”;

·         Olga Kondratenko, student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Belarusian Trade and Economics University of Consumer Cooperatives, work “Children–Refugees in the Republic of Belarus: Barriers in Adaptation and the Ways of Overcoming Them”;

·         Evgenia Yadchenko, student of the Faculty of Law of Gomel State University named F. Skorina, work “Legal and Social Aspects of Refugees’ Adaptation in the Republicof Belarus”;

To announce the following participants the winners with providing them a reward in an amount of 200 000 (two hundred thousand) Belarusian rubles and memorable diplomas:

·         Oleg Bernatski, cadet of the Faculty of Administration of the Subdivisions of Border Service Organs of Institute of Border Service of the Republic of Belarus, work “Security Elements Used in Refugee Identity Documents”;

·         Ilona Kononova, student of the Faculty of Economics of Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, work “Refugees and Apatrides’ Integration in Multicultural Belarusian Society”;

·         Anton Parfenchik, student of the Faculty of Administration of Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, work “Ways of Solving Refugees’ Problem”

The Awarding ceremony will take place on January 21, 2011 at 15:30 at the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University (Akademicheskaya str., 25, r. 303). The UNHCR Representative in the Republicof Belarus Sholeh Safaviwill participate in the event.
