From 4 to 7 June 2012 a mission to Belarus organized by WHO/Europe will perform an assessment of the status of Belarus regarding prevention and control of antibiotic resistance through surveillance, prudent use of antibiotics, and infection control. Special focus will be on promoting national coordination and strengthening surveillance of antibiotic resistance.

From 4 to 7 June 2012 a mission to Belarus organized by WHO/Europe will perform an assessment of the status of Belarus regarding prevention and control of antibiotic resistance through surveillance, prudent use of antibiotics, and infection control. Special focus will be on promoting national coordination and strengthening surveillance of antibiotic resistance. 

Mission will be performed by the team of experts including Dr Danilo Lo Fo Wong Senior Adviser Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) at the WHO Regional office for Europe,  Dr Nienke van de Sande Bruinsma,  technical officer AMR at the WHO Regional office for Europe, Jos Monen, National data manager national AMR surveillance at the Dutch National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM),  Dr Oskar Ekelund,  Medical Microbiologist, Vaxjo, Sweden

The experts will interview the main stakeholders including the officials and specialists of the MOH, health care sector and primary care, public health institution, veterinary institutions to assess the progress made by Belarusin implementing the European Strategic Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance.
