A National Conference on rendering psychological assistance to children and adolescents in crisis will be held with participation of international experts on 5–6 June, 2014 in Minsk.The conference is organized by the Minsk City Clinical Children's Psycho–Neurological Dispensary/Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus with the support of UNICEF Belarus Country Office within the framework of the project "Prevention of Crisis Situations among Adolescents to Avert Their Social Maladjustment and Deviant Behaviour".

A National Conference on rendering psychological assistance to children and adolescents in crisis will be held with participation of international experts on 5–6 June, 2014 in Minsk (Belarus). The conference is organized by the Minsk City Clinical Children's Psycho–Neurological Dispensary/Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus with the support of UNICEF Belarus Country Office within the framework of the project "Prevention of Crisis Situations among Adolescents to Avert Their Social Maladjustment and Deviant Behaviour".

The Conference will be attended by representatives from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Medical specialists, psychologists, NGO employees will obtain up–to–date knowledge and techniques of handling children and adolescents in a difficult situation (under stress, experiencing grief or abuse) and those who call the "Hotline". They will be updated on types of crisis situations, typical and deviant behavior patterns; analyzed mental disorders specific of children and adolescents at military conflicts in Ukraine and peculiarities of psychotherapeutic assistance to them.

Experts from Moscow, St. Petersburg will present methods of rendering assistance to children with post–traumatic stress disorder and suicidal intents. It is expected that the conference will contribute to strengthening capacity of health care institutions to set up and develop a system of early diagnosis and timely assistance to children and adolescents in crisis, enhance their social adaptation, prevention of mental disorders, deviant and suicidal behavior.
