GYMUN 2015 - Youth Discussing Global Agenda

On 2-5 April, the State Educational Institution “Gymnasium №12” of Minsk hostedGYMUN 2015,” the International Gymnasia Conference on Modelling the United Nations' work. The Conference was attended by 200 participants from 20 schools and gymnasiums of Minsk and Belarus. This year, the students simulated work of six United Nation committees and bodies - Security Council, Crisis Committee, Disarmament and International Security Committee, Economic and Financial Committee, Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee and the International Council for Science.

During
the meetings, the young people discussed such issues as illicit trade in small arms and light weapons, use of economic sanctions as a means of political coercion, right to privacy, problem of drug abuse and hallucinogenic drugs, as well as ethical issues of cloning and use of stem cells.
