Today the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus Sanaka Samarasinha, UNHCR Representative in Belarus Jean Yves Bouchardy, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Ekaterina Paniklova, UNFPA Assistant Representative Elena Kasko met with the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus Marianna Schetkina.

Today the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus Sanaka Samarasinha, UNHCR Representative in Belarus Jean Yves Bouchardy, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Ekaterina Paniklova, UNFPA Assistant Representative Elena Kasko met with the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus Marianna Schetkina.

The issues related to people with disabilities, refugees and gender equality were raised during the meeting. UNCT representatives welcomed the leadership shown by Belarus with respect to fulfilling the needs of refugees and urged Belarusian authorities to sign and ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

In addition the sides discussed the UN Development Assistance Framework for 2016–2020 as well as agencies' Country Programme Documents (CPD) for the next 5 years, in particular, possible modalities of their implementation in Belarus.

The UN Resident Coordinator informed the Minister of Labour and Social Protection about the upcoming UN initiative related to the 70th anniversary of the organization — UN Train that will run through Belarusian cities in autumn this year.
