Sustainable Energy for All. Energy Efficiency: Realistic, Functional, Easy!

On June 17, 2015, the science cafe Sustainable Energy for All. Energy Efficiency: Realistic, Functional, Easy! was held at the National Library of Science and Technology within the Decade of Sustainable Energy for All (2014–2024). The science cafe was organized by the UN Department of Public Information in Belarus, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Belarus and the National Library of Science and Technology within the Decade of Sustainable Energy for All (2014–2024) to raise awareness about the importance of increasing sustainable access to energy, energy efficiency and renewable energy at the local, national, regional and international levels

On June 17, 2015, the science cafe Sustainable Energy for All. Energy Efficiency: Realistic, Functional, Easy! was held at the National Library of Science and Technology within the Decade of Sustainable Energy for All (2014–2024).

The science cafe was organized by the UN Department of Public Information in Belarus, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Belarus and the National Library of Science and Technology within the Decade of Sustainable Energy for All (2014–2024) to raise awareness about the importance of increasing sustainable access to energy, energy efficiency and renewable energy at the local, national, regional and international levels

The participants discussed the introduction of new energy standards and use of energy and cost–saving technologies, e.g. in residential construction; the implementation of international technical assistance projects in the area of energy efficiency and energy–saving as well as the implementation of the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Belarus on Renewable Energy Resources of December 27, 2010.

The new EU/UNDP project Removing Barriers to Wind Energy Development in Belarus was presented during the event.  

Managers and experts from EU/UNDP projects, such as Developing an Integrated Approach to a Stepped–Up Energy Saving Programme, Improving Energy Efficiency in Residential Buildings in the Republic of Belarus, Removing Barriers to Wind Energy Development in Belarus, spokesmen from the Department for Energy Efficiency of the State Committee on Standardization of the Republic of Belarus, environmental non–governmental organizations and private sector took part in the meeting. The event was accompanied by a thematic exhibition of scientific and technical literature from the stock of the National Library of Science and Technology.
