Secondary school #130 is named after UNRRA representative Ruth Waller

The secondary school № 130 of Minsk was held the ceremony, devoted to the opening of the memorial plaque to perpetuate Ruth Waller, the Secretary of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) in Belarus.

On April 25, in the secondary school № 130 of Minsk was held the ceremony, devoted to the opening of the memorial plaque to perpetuate Ruth Waller, the Secretary of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) in Belarus.

The ceremony was attended by Helen Clark, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Under-Secretary-General, Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Scott Roland, US Charge d'Affaires in Belarus, Vadim Bogush, deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus and Andrey Shorets, Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

After the opening of the memorial plaque guest were welcomed by the students of Leninski district’s educational institutions of Minsk and made a note in the book of honorable guests. The honored guests also answered questions from the media.
