At the meeting on July 11 the high–level Advisory Group discusses the roadmap for the development of a programme document in the field of rule of law and access to justice in Belarus.
United Nations in Belarus in cooperation with state and international partners has been conducting active work in the field of justice, public administration and the rule of law. One of the priorities of the Organization within the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for the Republic of Belarus for 2016–2020 is to ensure an inclusive, responsive and accountable governance.
At the meeting on July 11 the high–level Advisory Group discusses the roadmap for the development of a programme document in the field of rule of law and access to justice in Belarus. Among the thematic areas of work are legal protection and legal awareness, legal aid and counsel, adjudication, enforcement and civil society and parliamentary oversight.
The advisory group includes high–level representatives of government and judicial institutions (Presidential Administration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, Prosecutor General’s Office, Investigation Committee, etc.), international development partners (including the UN, EU, OSCE/ODIHR, Council of Europe and individual member–states), as well as representatives of civil society.
