UN Department of Public Information and United Nations Development Programme in Belarus summarized the results of the research paper competition dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Competitors were to prepare papers in Russian or Belarusian concerning “The 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Human Rights and Challenges of XXI Century.”
Students and postgraduates from all regions of Belarus took part in the competition organized with the aim to raise awareness, enhance knowledge, and engage students in scientific research activities in the field of human rights.
The following participants became the winners of the competition:
Nikita Lukyanchik, student of legal department of MITSO International University, was selected as number one for his work “Normative Approach to Personal and Information Privacy: International Experience and National Practice.”
Valeria Lukhverchik, student of international relations department of Belarusian State University, took the second place with her work, “Sport as a Means of Fight against Racism.”
Viktoria Fyodorova, postgraduate student of international relations department of Belarusian State University, ranked third with her work, “Implementation of International Standards of Prohibition and Prevention of Tortures to Belarusian Legislation.”
The awards ceremony took place in the UNDP Country Office in Minsk. The winners received diplomas and memorable prizes.
UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948.
