December 06, 2018, an official awards ceremony and opening of the exhibition featuring the best works of prize winners of the National Drawing Exhibition Contest entitled, “Draw your Rights. 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights” took place in the National Library of Belarus.

The contest was co-organized by the United Nations Organisation in the Republic of Belarus, the National Art Centre for Children and Youth, and the National Centre of Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus.

Representatives of the United Nations Organisation in Belarus, National Library of Belarus, National Art Centre for Children and Youth, National Centre of Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus, students, parents, and teachers of supplementary education institutions from all over Belarus attended the ceremony.

30 authors of works represented by “Draw your Rights. The 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights” contest were awarded with diplomas of I, II, and III degree and valuable gifts. 400 participants received diplomas of the exhibition contestants.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world on December 10, 1948. It sets forth universal values and a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations. The Declaration proclaims equal dignity and value of every human being.
