There are about 6,000 people who are not citizens of any state in Belarus. "A stateless person" is a legal term used in such cases.

UNHCR Belarus and Press Club Belarus invite to learn about statelessness in the world and in Belarus, talk about its causes and consequences, learn about the #IBelong - UNHCR global campaign to eliminate statelessness and practice how to write about it correctly.
Speaker: Valeria Cherednichenko, Consultant on Statelessness in UNHCR's Europe Bureau (Brussels, Belgium); Master of International Law of the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko; Master of Human Rights University of Tilburg in the Netherlands; Ambassador of Ukraine to the international youth movement One Young World. Valeria has been working on issues of statelessness since 2011 and has been dealing with issues of statelessness in Europe for more than four years.
Jean-Yves Bouchardy, UNHCR Representative in Belarus, UNHCR and Interior Ministry experts will also participate in the meeting.
