More than 1000 citizens of Hrodna voblasć and guests from the neighbouring countries took part in the international ethnic charity festival for people with disabilities.

On June 18, the International Charity Ethnic festival for people with disabilities "Music of Our Hearts", took place for the second time in a row in the village of Karevičy, Svislač district, in the farm estate "Falvarak u Rysya".
The special characteristic of the festival is the performance of people with disabilities from Belarus and other countries on the same stage with professional pop and folk artists.
Olga Atroshchenko, UNDP Programme Officer, in her welcome speech stressed that Belarus is moving forward on the path of ensuring equal rights for all. Last year, Belarus ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and last week the National plan for its implementation was adopted. This is a plan of action to ensure that each of us has equal access to basic rights and services.
"I am very glad that UNDP has direct relation to this festival within the framework of the project, which is funded by the European Union. I'm glad that we helped build this wonderful ship, which today will be used as one of the main stages, " said Olga Atroshchenko.
The forum was organized within the framework of the project "Support to Local Development in the Republic of Belarus", which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The hostess of the farm estate " Falvarak u Rysya" and the inspiration leader of the festival "Music of Our Hearts" – further plans to organize a barrier-free environment in the three tourist destinations as a part of local initiative that was funded by the European Union this year. Thus, more than 300 people with disabilities will be able to enjoy recreation in the agro-farms of the Hrodna voblasć.
The project "Support to Local Development in the Republic of Belarus" aims at combining efforts and establishing partnerships between authorities and civil society to develop regions according to their specific requirements. The project is funded by the European Union (budget € 5,400,000) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus.
