UNDP Project Manager

UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Project Manager in the project
“Environmentally Sustainable Development
in the Belavezhskaya Pushcha Belarus-Poland Region:
combining protected area management with rural sustainability”

The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection with support of the United Nations Development Programme in Belarus. The project objective is to develop basic legal, economic and awareness-raising prerequisites for development of environmentally friendly alternative sustainable livelihoods in the Belavezhskaia Pushcha region in Belarus building on cross-border experience and focusing on ecotourism.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination and supervision of the project implementation, under the overall guidance and supervision of the National Project Director and UNDP Office in Belarus. Project Manager will be responsible for the production of the project outputs, leading the work of the project team, consisting of national and international experts, and coordinating the project activities with other projects and organizations in related fields.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in management, social sciences, economics or relevant development area;
  • At least two years of experience in project management;
  • Familiarity with the work of international organizations and local authorities;
  • Awareness of local conditions in the Belavezhskaya Pushcha region;
  • Fluency in English and Russian;
  • Excellent writing skills and computer skills.
