VLADIMIR SHIMOV

Title within the Project: Scientific Editor

Educational Background:: Born on 29 November 1948. Graduated from the Moscow State Lomonosov University. Basic diploma in the field of Economic Geography.

Professional experience record: a fellow researcher of the Scientific Research Economic Institute (SREI) of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus (1976–1982), Deputy Chancellor of the Gomel University (1982–1989), Deputy Director of SREI (1989–1995), First Deputy Minister of Economy of Belarus, Minister of Economy of Belarus (1995–2002). Current position : Chancellor of the State Economic University of Belarus. Doctorate Degree in Economic Sciences, Professor.

Publications: Author of more than 130 publications in Russian and Polish.

Previous experience within UNDP: National Coordinator of the number of previous National Reports of Belarus from 1998 to 2000.

VLADIMIR ZINOVSKY

Title within the Project: National Consultant.

Educational background and professional experience record: Born on 19 November 1955. Graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk. Basic diploma in the field of Economic Statistics. Also a diploma of the Economic Manager. Since 1992 — First Deputy Minister of Statistics of the Republic of Belarus. From December 1998 and up to date — Minister of Statistics of Belarus.

EUGENY MEDVEDEV

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the article titled: "Problems of Transition to the Innovative Way of Development".

Educational background and professional experience record : Born on 9 February 1955. Graduated from the Belarusian State University, Minsk. PhD degree in Economics. Currently position — Deputy Director of the Institute of Economy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Publications: Author of a series of publications in economic field.

Previous experience within UNDP: National Consultant for NHDR 2000.

LIUDMILA KOZLOVSKAYA

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the article titled: "Developing Problem Regions, Mitigation of the Chernobyl Impacts in the Affected Areas and Ensuring Transition to the Concept of Their Sustainable Development".

Educational background and professional experience record: Graduated from the Belarusian State University, Minsk. Basic diploma in the field of Geography. Current position — Head of the Department of the Belarusian State University. Doctorate Degree in Economics. Professor.

Publications: Author of more than 120 publications related to the Regional Economic Development in Belarus, as well as in the field of Socio–Economic Geography. Member of the National Commission on Sustainable Development.

Previous experience within UNDP: Involvement into the Project on Sustainable Development Strategy in Belarus.

IRINA NOVIKOVA

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the article titled: "Globalization and Geopolitical Potential of Belarus".

Educational background and professional experience record : Graduated from Belarusian State University, Minsk. Doctoral degree in Economics. Professor. Current position — Vice–Chancellor for Scientific Research of the Belarusian State Economic University.

Publications: Author of more than 100 publications in the Economic Field.

Previous experience within UNDP: National Consultant for NHDR 2000.

VICTOR PINIGIN

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the articles titled: "Physical Capital: Current Situation and Opportunities for Growth", "Deepening Market and Institutional Transitions in Economy".

Educational background and professional experience record Born on 19 November 1952. Graduated from the Belarusian State University, Minsk. From 1991 to 1995–Head of the Analytical Division of the Scientific Research Economic Institute (SREI) of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus. Since 1995 up to date — Deputy Director of SREI. Member of the Editorial Board of the Economic Survey of Belarus. Scientific Manager of a number of economic concepts and forecasts of Belarus.

Publications: Author of a series of publications and research works on macroeconomic and institutional aspects of the economy of Belarus. More then 90 publications, including 8 individual books and brochures.

Previous experience within UNDP: Since 1998 has been involved in the NHDR projects.

STEPAN POLONIK

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the articles titled: "Increasing effectiveness and competitiveness of economy", "Macroeconomic Policy and Improvement of the System of Governance".

Educational background and professional experience record : Born on 20 June 1946. Graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk. In 1998, received a diploma of post graduation courses of the Scientific and Research Institute of Economy and Information for the Agricultural Sector . PhD in Economics. In 1994–1995 worked as Deputy Minister of Economy of Belarus. From 1995 up to 2000 — Head of the Economic Department of the Executive Office of the Council of Ministers of Belarus. Participated in the development and implementation of a series of research projects and studies related to the Socio–Economic Development of Belarus. Since 2000 up to date — Director of the Scientific Research Economic Institute (SREI) of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus (SREI).

Publications: Author of more then 60 scientific publications in the economic field.

ANATOLY RUBANOV

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the articles titled: "Improving education system and developing national culture", and "Establishing Civil Society and Developing Regional Initiatives"

Educational background and professional experience record : Born on 17 February 1958. Graduated from the Belarusian State University, Minsk. Basic diploma in the field of history. Doctoral degree in Social Sciences. Current position — First Deputy Director of the Minsk City Scientific and Research Institute of Socio–Economic and Political Problems.

Publications: Author of a series of publications in the field of sociology.

IVAN UDOVENKO

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the articles titled: "Increasing of Incomes and Poverty Eradication", and "Improving physical and moral health of people, developing health care system".

Educational background and professional experience record Born on 20 February 1950. Graduated from the Belarusian State University, Minsk. PhD, Senior Research Worker. Current position — Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Economic Institute (SREI) of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus.

Publications: Author of more then 70 publications and research works in the field of socio–economic development forecasts in Belarus. 6 individual books.

Previous experience within UNDP: Since 1998 has been involved in the NHDR projects.

VLADIMIR FATEYEV

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the article entitled: "Social Capital: major trends and specifics in the Belarusian context ".

Educational background and professional experience record Brief CV: Born on 5 July 1955. Graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk. Doctoral Degree in Economy, Senior Research Worker. From 1991 to 1992 — Head of Division, and then Deputy Scientific Director of the Institute of the Economy of the National Academy of Sciences. Current position — Head of Department of Economy of the European Humanities University, Minsk.

Publications: Author of more then 97 publications, including 3 individual books and 6 individual brochures. In 1995, he received a special award of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Previous experience within UNDP: Extensive experience in working with UNDP. In 1995 participated in NHDR development as a National Consultant.

 

ANATOLY BOGDANOVICH

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the articles titled: "Internal Economic Problems of the Country", "Natural Capital: Problems of Rational Use".

Educational background: Born on 23 February 1942. Graduated from the Belarusian State University, Minsk. Basic diploma in the field of Geography.

Professional experience record: fellow researcher of the Scientific Research Economic Institute (SREI) of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus. Since 1998 — First Deputy Director of SREI. Member of various research teams for drafting the Programmes of Mid–term and Long–term Forecast of Social–and Economic Development of Belarus. Member of the National Commission of Sustainable Development. PhD in Economic Sciences.

Publications: Author of more than 180 publications on Belarus' economic development related issues .

Previous experience within UNDP: Since 1997 has been involved in the NHDR projects.

ALEKSANDR BONDAR

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the article titled: "Human Capital: Barriers and Opportunities".

Educational background and professional experience record : Born on 28 March 1950. Graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk. Basic diploma in the field of Economics. Current position : Head of the Department of Economic Theory and History of Economic Studies of the Belarusian State Economic University. Doctorate Degree in Economic Sciences. Professor.

Publications: Author of a number of publications in economic field.

LIUDMILA BOROVIK

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the article titled: "Ensuring Effective Employment".

Educational background and professional experience record: Graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk. Basic diploma in the field of Economic Programming. Since 1991 she has been a Fellow Researcher and later the Head of Sector of the Scientific Research Economic Institute (SREI) of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus. Major focus — Demographic Problems of Employment in Belarus.

Publications: Author of 26 publications related to the Demography and Employment Market.

OLGA SHIMOVA

Title within the Project: National Consultant, author of the article titled: "Ecologic Threats and Development ".

Educational background and professional experience record : Graduated from the Moscow State Lomonosov University, Minsk. Basic diploma in the field of Geography. Doctoral Degree in Economy, Professor. From 1990 to 2001 — Professor of the Belarusian State Economic University. Current position — Head of Department of the Management Academy under the President of Belarus. Head of the expert team of the Analytical Report related to the Strategy of Sustainable Development of Belarus.

Publications: Author of more then 80 publications.

Previous experience within UNDP: National Consultant of the NHDR 2000.
